Polyvision®: Car Application

Polyvision® is a PDLC technology that lets you control your privacy.

PDLC stands for “polymer dispersed liquid crystal” and it is a smart glass, switchable privacy glass that uses nanotechnology to create a dynamic window.

How to use Polyvision®

When you need privacy, all you need to do is apply a charge to the glass and it will become transparent. To turn the glass back to opaque creating privacy, simply turn off the charge. Polyvision® is easy to install and has several applications, including use in automobiles as an alternative to tinted windows.

It’s completely opaque until a charge is applied to the glass and it switches.

When no voltage is applied, the glass remains completely opaque. When a voltage of 65 volts is applied, the glass becomes completely transparent. You might want your car window to be completely transparent while driving so you can see outside, but you might decide that it should be partially opaque when parked in order to prevent anyone from seeing inside your vehicle. In addition, this material could also potentially be used for carshades or sunscreens to help block out light and heat without obstructing visibility if applied correctly.

Polyvision® is commonly used for commercial or residential windows.

Polyvision® is widely used in commercial and residential buildings. Polyvision® films are a commonly installed on the interior side of glass, but they can also be retrofitted onto existing windows.

To install Polyvision® films, a sheet of glass is first cut to size. The film is applied to the surface of the glass, then another sheet of glass is placed over it. A spacer holds the two sheets together, and sealant fills in the space between them.*

With Polyvision® films installed on your window panes, you’ll enjoy reduced glare and more consistent lighting inside your building or home.

You can also use Polyvision® Film for interior walls or partitions.

Polyvision® can also be used for interior walls or partitions, such as in conference rooms or bathrooms. It can even be used for countertops and tables! In fact, it can be used for any glass surface that would otherwise be opaque.

Polyvision® can be used as a display screen that can show images and text.

Polyvision® can be used as a display screen that can show images and text. It could be used as a touch screen on the doors of cars. The driver and passengers could use this technology to play videos by pressing on the display screen, or it could also be used to display advertising.

It’s easy to install and has several applications.

Polyvision® is easily applied to existing glass windows in most vehicles. Along with the comfort and privacy of Polyvision®, it also acts like a display surface for advertising, entertainment, or information purposes.

Polyvision® can also be used for other applications such as partitions, glass walls within buildings, and exterior windows in commercial or residential structures
